HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THE PROPOSED 600,000 SQUARE-FOOT INDOOR MARIJUANA FARM?

Asked Friday Outside Raley's On Notre Dame Boulevard

Zach Wyman

Manager, Paradise

"It doesn't bother me at all as long as it's legal. As long as they get their permits and everything I don't see anything wrong with it. As long as it's not a magnet for crime."

Warren Lofftus

Retired CHP lieutenant, Chico

Well, I think marijuana is a bad idea personally, because I've seen people throughout California, especially on the coast, where marijuana has ruined their lives. It's like any drug or alcohol, there's gonna be people who abuse it, and they're the ones that society has to deal with.

Bud Dilbeck

Retired, Durham

I don't think it's a good idea for Chico. I think it goes along with dumbing down society so that the government has more control over our lives. It's not going to be good for Chico's well-being. We're not going to be able to attract businesses with that kind of culture. We just don't need one more thing.

Duke Ross

Retired engineer, Magalia

I have no problem with it because I'm hoping that the bill will pass in November and everyone could grow it. My main reason is that it's a lot less dangerous than alcohol. We're spending too many resources trying to stop people from doing something they're just going to do anyways.

Diana Culpepper

Self employed/bookkeeper, Chico

It's fine with me. When are they going to legalize it? They should just legalize it for medicinal use. They should just grow it, tax it and get a new revenue for this state.

Dale McCallum

Retired, Paradise

I think it's absurd. We have many many more important things to spend our money on. We need to straighten our the city of Chico's budget so we're not spending more than we make.
